McNiel Works

McNiel Works is a professional landscape architecture firm specializing in private property residential design, as well as serving commercial clients.  We are advocates for the client and will help you plan your project, following the steps of the Design Cycle, to arrive at an ecologically and culturally appropriate design solution that meets your needs, desires and budget.

Ms. McNiel is a California Registered Landscape Architect.  She has been practicing landscape and garden design for over 25 years.  Her professional training includes a BSLA degree in Landscape Architecture from UC Davis where her studies focused on site design, and ecological and cultural resource preservation.  Her landscape architecture experience is diverse and includes a wide variety of project types including historic preservation, commercial, public and private residential projects.

With over 30 years experience as an educator, with a masters degree in Landscape Architecture with an emphasis in planning, Mr. McNiel’s specialities include cultural resource analysis and preservation, and large-scale planning.  He also has an extensive background in landscape construction,  having previously owned and managed a design-build landscape company.  He practiced primarily in Eugene, Oregon where he and his crew completed over 100 built projects.
